Today in class we took our second quiz. I joined the class late because I was having really bad connection issues. So everyone else had more time than I did to take the quiz which was a bit harder since I did not have time to think or go over my answers before I submitted my test. I also did not get to answer the bonus question which is not that big of a deal. After all the tests were submitted, we went over the answers in class. I saw that I got all of the answers correct so I was no longer worried about how I did on the quiz. After the quiz, we took a survey to rank the different traits we thought would be the least to hardest for us to do. Then we compared ourselves to Binti and talked about the survey so see where everyone was ranked at. After that, we were placed into breakout groups to answer a few questions. In my breakout group, we talked about what traits a teacher at the school Binti attended should have. We basically said the teacher should have patience, be able to connect with the students, be a good mentor, along with a few other traits. At the end of the class, the professor gave us a few questions to think about for our next class. The first question is “To what extent have you *already* had an education like the one you all came up with?” So far the education I have had so far is kind of close to the one I came up with. Some of the teachers that I have had just show up and do the bare minimum just so they can get paid without having to do actual work. On the other hand, a few teachers I have had, have gone above and beyond for their students. Not only do they teach with passion, but they also make sure most, if not all, of the students, understand the material before moving on. They also have personal connection with the students so that the students feel comfortable with them. There have been a few teachers I have had that I had a personal connection with. My ROTC chief is one of them since I had him for four years, he got to know us very well and I felt that he loved his job as a teacher. The second question was “To what extent is the education you are *now* receiving like the one you came up with” There are fewer teachers, that I have come across so far, that is like the education I came up with. I have a total of seven classes and, out of these classes, four of the professors demonstrate the same tendencies that I came up with. The problem with this is, those other three classes are three of the most important classes for my major. The classes that are not important for my major are the main ones that are trying to actually teach and build connections with the students in their classes. The other three classes will usually read straight off of the PowerPoint and then assign a lot of work that is impossible to do unless you teach yourself the content. The third question is “ What decisions could you make now to ensure that your future education resembles this one?” Since school is virtual for the time being, I will have to email my teachers and make sure I participate in class so I can connect with my professors. However, I am hoping when/if we go back on campus, I can attend office hours of my professors to ask for extra help and, to also get to know them better so we can have a bond or an understanding of each other to make the school year go by easier for each other.

I woke up for my chemistry lab at 8 in the morning. After the lab, I go over Chapter four one more time before class to make sure I had an understanding of what we were going to be talking about in class today. I also did my 45-minute write of the assignment.
